Oops We Did It Again

On Saturday I was skimming facebook and a post by the local SPCA showed two little white kittens up for adoption at a store in town. Michael and I were heading out for errands anyway so I told him I wanted to pop by and have a look, and honestly, that's all I planned to do -- LOOK.

To make a very long story short, we left the store, did our errands and then somehow ended with us back at the store signing the adoption papers for little little gaffer ...

Cecil
He was born on October 27, 2016 and we brought him home on February 25, 2017. He is Michael's early birthday present. He has claimed Michael as his person.

Ruby and Cecil play together nicely. Ezra is okay with him being here, but as usual, needs to show her disgust by hissing and giving him dirty looks before she actually interacts.

More to come ...

Kitten Approved

It's my day off, which generally means binge watching a TV show (today it's Jessica Jones), doing laundry and other housework, as well as knitting. I set my WIP down for five minutes to switch over loads from the washer to the dryer and this is what I came back to.

Ruby approves!

As it seems, Ruby approves of Ethan's new Greyson sweater. I only hope he loves it as much! :)

I have two rows of k1 p1 ribbing to go of the bottom hem before I bind off ... and then it's onto the sleeves. I'm not looking forward to the sleeves (so boring) but at least they'll go relatively fast as they are a simple stockinette stitch and worsted weight yarn.

Feline(s) Fridays

We usually don't put up our Yule tree until the 15th of December due to Owen's birthday being on the 14th and we like to keep the celebrations separate. However, on Wednesday Ethan asked Owen if we could put the tree up (no decorations) before the 14th and Owen said yes.

So far the girls have been good about the tree. Last year Ezra mostly ignored it. She stole a couple ornaments, but she didn't wreck anything. I didn't know how Ruby would react. She's a little bugger, so it could be anything.

We have a big Santa hat wearing bear so I figured I'd set it up beside the tree and keep my camera on the ready. The results, thus far, have not been disappointing.

Enjoy! :)

"Hey Ezra, what do you see outside?"

Pretty little girl with a long tail.

"The bear fell down on his own."

This looks like a comfy spot ...

All tuckered out from playing with the bear.

Lily can get away with anything when it comes to Otis.

Otis likes her new hat.

Oh Moose. #facepalm

Clearly Dozer needs something ...

"Pay attention to ME!"

Apparently he likes speed skating too.

Have a great day! It's BFR run day today. YAY! Can't wait. I've been doing a run streak this month (run at least 2km every day) so today is day 13 for me. I've run 14 days in a row (counting today) because I ran on Jan 31st with Michael. Woohoo!

Soft Kitty Warm Kitty

A few months ago I had set a basket on the (hot water) radiator in my bedroom temporarily until I made space for it elsewhere. Almost immediately it was claimed by Otis and she had no plans to give it up. What's a girl to do? You got it. I left it there and made it better by putting a blanket in it for her.

In the warm months it's nice because it's right under the windows and she can smell the fresh air, look out at the birds and enjoy herself. In the cold months that basket heats up wonderfully and she rarely leaves it. I don't blame her.

When Michael first saw it he rolled his eyes a bit and said something like "yeah, that's not going to be in the way," his voice dripping with sarcasm. But he left it. Then again, he's also the guy who feeds Otis chicken from the dinner table.

A Photo A Day #5

The kids head back to school tomorrow after a nice two week winter vacation. It's been fun, but they're anxious to be back. The weather network is calling for freezing rain and snow today, tonight and into tomorrow so lets all keep our fingers crossed there won't be any school cancellations ...

Have a fabulous day!! :)
