I also laugh at the people who are shocked by how cold it is. We've (in Southern Ontario) been spoiled over the last few years with our mild winters, but come on, if you were born before 1995 you should at least have some memory of it being like this. This is how I remember winter being. Maybe not THIS cold, but definitely colder than what we've been having.
Right now Michael is at our "summer home" in Saskatchewan and these -25C days (with a windchill of -40) are normal every day temperatures for there, and he works outside. Yeah. Crazy. I call it our "summer home" because I'd have to be insane to go there any time but in the summer. No way am I subjecting myself to that kind of cold on a regular basis.
It certainly is beautiful outside today. The sun is shining brightly and the snow looks (for now) clean and bright. Looks can be deceiving though. I just let the dogs out, and back in again, and having the door opened for those two sets of 20 seconds was enough to scare me back into the house. I'm glad my bathrooms are heated. Poor pups.

Stay Warm!
We haven't had cold this bad in many years. For us it is an inconvenience, but for the orange growers and fern farms, it's devastating.
ReplyDeleteI think it might not have been as cold as they predicted last night. I didn't see any damage to my plants. AND . . . by Saturday it will be 85*F again. CRAZY WINTER! LOL
Hope you can stay warm and amen to heated bathrooms! LOL
